Giving thanks with Glen Washington

‘Just Giving Thanks’, the latest album from singer Glen Washington, drops on May 30 from Tad’s International Record. It is the veteran artist’s first album since ‘Feeling Irie’, which was released in 2024.

Washington, who is based in Atlanta, Georgia, describes ‘Just Giving Thanks’ as his most spiritual work. On several of its 14 songs, he gives praise to Rastafari.

He will kick off promotion for the album on June 1 with a show at Fox & Firkin, a venue in Lewisham, south London. That show also features fellow singers Tasha T and Patrick Junior.

“With the album about to come out, the next step is to go out there and promote it, an’ make sure the people hear it,” said Washington.

Some of the songs on ‘Just Giving Thanks’ are ‘Chant Them Down’, and ‘Oh, To Be Like HIM’, ‘Goodness And Mercy’ and ‘Dreadlocks Conqueror’.

Produced by Tad Dawkins Jr., ‘Just Giving Thanks’ features top musicians such as bass players Flabba Holt and Donald “Danny Bassie” Dennis, keyboardist Franklyn “Bubbla” Waul, drummer Kirk Bennett and saxophonist Dean Fraser.
