Ginjah brings soul to reggae

One week before the release of his album, "Ginjah The Reggae Soul Man", Ginjah anticipates big things for the 15-song set which is produced by Garfield Cowan for Natures Way Entertainment.

The album is scheduled for release on May 14.

"I really think 'The Reggae Soulman' is one of my strongest works so far, this album is on a different frequency. You can hear a more mature Ginjah from vocals, lyrics, melodies and delivery.  Overall, it's a masterpiece, the album every authentic reggae lover should have," Ginjah gushed.

Cowan assembled a number of Jamaica's top musicians to accompany Ginjah whom he met for the first time last year. Guitarist Earl "Chinna" Smith, keyboardist Lamar "Riff Raff" Brown and the drum and bass team of Unga and Welsh are some of the cast who played on 'The Reggae Soulman'.

Ginjah has been recording for over 20 years and was once part of Beres Hammond's Harmony House camp. This is his sixth album; it comes one year after "Survival", his previous project.

He is striving for the big breakthrough.

"Decades now I knocking on the door, so it would be rewarding for the world to finally accept my music the way I visioned it," said Ginjah.
