Enjoy a Nyabinghi Christmas with Dean

With the recording of an album complete, musicians look forward to performing its songs as part of promotion. It's no different with Dean Fraser.

On December 21, the saxophonist and fellow musicians will be featured in 'A Free Virtual Nyabinghi Christmas Special', from Tad's International Record's studio in Kingston.

Fraser, along with percussionists Congo Billy and Hector Lewis, bassist Mikey Fletcher, keyboardist Andrew Marsh and guitarist Lamont "Monty" Savory, will perform songs from his instrumental album "Nyabinghi Christmas" which was released in November by Tad's.

"Is a special time of year and wi believe wi put out a good album, suh wi feel good to be performing these songs for di people," said Fraser.

'These songs' include Christmas standards like "When A Child is Born", "Merry Christmas" and "Long Time Ago", all driven by Rasta drumming.

"Nyabinghi Christmas" is the first album by the veteran hornsman celebrating the Yuletide season. Fraser has recorded several albums in his 45-year career including instrumental tributes to Bob Marley and Dennis Brown.
