As a musician, Kirk Bennett has played on some of contemporary reggae's biggest hit songs. He has also produced several chart-riders for his Kirkledove label.
The in-demand drummer continues to excel in both areas. Last year, he released two EPs and is currently promoting "Pray", a song by Romain Virgo featuring Busy Signal.
"It's a positive song. Di world needs prayer and healing right now," said Bennett.
He has produced songs by both artists. Bennett also played on Virgo's hit single "Mi Caan Sleep" and "Come Over" by Busy Signal.
Familiarity, he noted, helps when making music.
"You have a work relationship with di artists so it's easy to build a vibes," said Bennett, who made his name as Beres Hammond's drummer for 17 years.
"I Feel Good" and "Come Down Father" are just two of the hits he played for Hammond. He can also be heard on Queen Ifrica’s "Lioness on The Rise", and "Solid As A Rock" and "Thank You Mama" by Sizzla.
Kirkledove Records' productions include "Tek Wey Yuhself" by Mr. Vegas and Elephant Man’s "Yuh Too Bad Mind".
In 2020, Bennett released two EPs --- "Rolling" (vocals) and the instrumental "Straight 4 to The Crown".
