Being from Trench Town, Chrisinti was raised to respect the music and artists who came from that hallowed Kingston community. He is determined to carry on the tradition of pioneers like Alton Ellis and The Wailers.
On "My Trod", his latest song, the roots singer reflects on his journey in a business that has not always been receptive to conscious artists.
However, after 30 years of recording, he has never considered changing course.
"Any artist would be frustrated if dem putting out di effort an' don't get di strong support, but it only make mi more creative an' hungry," said a defiant Chrisinti.
"My Trod" is produced by Reggae Vibes Productions out of New York. It is one of two songs Chrisinti released in 2020, the other being "From The Dust".
The latter is from "Say Yes to Life", his third album which was released in 2019 by Tuff Gong International.
His recording schedule was curtailed by the Coronavirus last year. Chrisinti said family and keeping safe from the pandemic took priority, but he is keen to get back in the music groove in 2021.
"I'd love to do as much virtual performances as possible an' get myself out there to the people. That's the plan I have right now," he said.
