Even before it hit the market in late 2025, there was tremendous buzz for the WYFL riddim, co-produced by DJ Mac and Crashdummy. Don G felt that frenetic surge in Luxembourg, where he lives.
After relentless lobbying to DJ (Mac) and Crashdummy, they agreed to let him record a song on their beat. His contribution to the WYFL is 'Raise All Glases', which was released in March.
Because he lives in a remote European country, Don G believes it is good business to record on hip dancehall tracks out of Jamaica.
"Its very important to me because it lets me show my versatility, even though I've got a few of those dancehall songs in my catalog. Being a reggae artist/singer, people didn't know I could dominate that riddim, so I had to please my listeners," said Don G.
The biggest names in dancehall music have recorded songs on the WYFL, including Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Cham, Spice, and Kabaka Pyramid. It has been touted as the genre's biggest production for 2026.
The party vibe of 'Raise All Glases' is different from 'Free' and 'Internal Fire', roots songs Don G released in 2025. He is among a handful of reggae artists in Luxembourg, where he has called home since 2017.
Don G, who is from rural St. Catherine parish in Jamaica, has been recording music since 2007. He has performed throughout Europe and Nigeria.
