Dutch producer ChevoBeatz has big plans for 2025. Those include releasing a flurry of songs, some of them with FyaVerse, the Jamaican deejay with whom he has collaborated on a number of singles.
He told this column that his latest tracks will appeal to the young and young at heart.
“My latest dancehall project is currently in the making, and it’s going to be a banger for both young and old! I’ve been working on crafting a fresh, high-energy sound that stays true to the roots of dancehall while pushing the genre forward,” said ChevoBeatz.
Born in Velp, a village in The Netherlands’ eastern region, ChevoBeatz is the child of Indian parents from Suriname. He was raised on his family’s culture but also developed a love for Jamaican dancehall culture in his youth.
In 2019 while visiting Jamaica, he met FyaVerse with whom he has collaborated on songs such as ‘Shatta Gyal’ and ‘Harmony Of Hearts’. ‘Shatta Gyal’ is the most successful, having entered the Billboard Argentina chart.
While most of his productions have a strong Jamaican dancehall feel, ChevoBeatz says his upcoming songs hear him stepping out of that comfort zone and experimenting with Afrobeats, hip hop and traditional Indian music.
“I’ve always been rooted in dancehall, but I’m constantly exploring different genres and blending sounds in unexpected ways. I love pushing boundaries, and that’s what people know me for—my innovative style that fuses traditional elements with fresh, modern twists,” he disclosed.
