After a fruitful 2024, roots artist Autarchii plans to release his second album this year, and increase his presence as a live act.
‘Land Of The Free’, his first album, was released in 2017, and was followed four years later by the EP, ‘Disrupting The Status Quo’. The singer says his upcoming set covers a lot of ground.
“My second studio album will be inclusive of many moods, primarily drawing inspirations from the golden area of reggae mixed with ‘60s R&B and modern sounds, all in one. This is the most involved I've been in the musical arrangements of my songs to date and I think listeners will be pleased,” he disclosed.
Describing 2024 as a “joyful year”, Autarchii pointed to performing at Dub Camp inside Reggae Jam in Germany, on Smile Jamaica (a popular television show) in Jamaica, and laying tracks for the new album among the highlights of last year.
In the first quarter of this year, he plans to do a number of pop up shows on the US East Coast.
The New Jersey-based Autarchii is from Portmore, a sprawling community on the outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica’s capital. He is the son of veteran roots singer Donovan Joseph and a cousin of reggae legend Dennis Brown.
