Adwoa the Runaway Girl

After learning the ropes in recording studios for several years, Adwoa’s first song is scheduled for release in April. ‘Runaway Girl’ is the title, and it is produced by Maka Lox.

It is one of the tracks on the ‘Madadtu Yudayaty’ EP, which also has contributions from Guinean singer Takana Zion, Richie Spice, Capleton and Natty King.

“I'm very very excited about ‘Runaway Girl’. It is a very fun song and I know the audience will love it. Everytime I perform it, the people interact well with me and I get great feedback from the audience,” said Adwoa.

Because she has been around many recording sessions, there were no nervous moments when cutting ‘Runaway Girl’, which she wrote shortly after Maka Lox presented her with the rhythm.

“Spending so many hours in the studio, my voice had no choice but to strengthen over the years. I am able to take on my high notes a lot stronger and more direct,” said Adwoa. “I've also improved on my technique in the studio, as there is a method to layering vocals and recording adlibs, harmonizing, etc. I have been able to now do that with more ease.”

On the ‘Madadtu Yudayaty’, Takana Zion shares the mic with Richie Spice on the title song. They also feature on ‘One Destiny’ with Maka Lox, while Capleton teams with Little Robert on ‘Toughest’.

Natty King does ‘Ghetto Youths’, while Jah Thunder and Arqane team-up for ‘Driver’. Fitta Warri and Ricky Sai Sai complete the vocal side of the album with ‘Show Off’.
