The collaboration has been a winning strategy for many artists in the past 20 years. A hit usually breaks them into different markets, but some acts just look forward to working with like minded colleagues.
In the case of neo-gospel artists Wingydanejah and Da’Ville, the latter applies. Their latest ‘collab’ is ‘I’m Not Alone’, a song that also features American rapper Kierian The Light.
‘I’m Not Alone’, produced by Ken Murphy, was released in November.
“Da’Ville is more than a collaborator, he’s like a brother to me. Our bond and authenticity allow us to connect with people on a deeper level, and together, we can make an even greater impact,” said Wingydanejah.
The duo previously worked on ‘I Need Your Presence’ (with American rapper Kidd Lee) which was released last year. Wingydanejah has also teamed with Kierian The Light before, on the song, ‘Get to Know You’.
‘I’m Not Alone’ stresses the importance of belief in God even when the chips are down.
“Faith is absolutely crucial in times of temptation. It’s the anchor that keeps you grounded and prevents you from falling into situations that could lead you astray,” said Wingydanejah.
He and Da’Ville have similar backgrounds. They are former secular artists who launched gospel careers after converting to Christianity.
