A pretty song from Deportee

Intrigued by Jamaican culture, American artist Deportee made dancehall the focus of his songs when he launched his recording career three years ago. On ‘2 Pretty’, his latest song, the rapper/deejay reaches out to the ladies.

Released in late November, the dance single is produced by Vikwyn, a leading name in Nigerian pop music.

“This song is for girls. I want women to lead the way and I want men to love the song because of their love for women and the way they react to it,” said Deportee.

After enthusiastic response to previous singles like ‘Bad Mamma Jamma’ and ‘Pressure Point’, Deportee is looking for even more recognition with ‘2 Pretty’.

“In 2026, I want us to get close. I want the world to really feel like they know me, and my team and I have a plan to make that a reality this year,” Deportee said.

A Detroit resident, Deportee was born Martin Curran. His mother, Sylvia Reed Curran, was a member of the United States Foreign Service who had tours of duty in countries such as Canada, Mexico and Russia.

He co-wrote ‘2 Pretty’ with J. Rich, Roy Haynes and Ray The Producer.
