When deejay Kacique first recorded ‘Prayer’, the song was a solo effort to promote his ‘Somerset Freestyle Series’ an online program he introduced in 2022. It drew such enthusiastic response, he decided to officially record it with fellow deejay D’yani.
Their collaboration is one of the songs on producer Romario “Romieikon” English’s ‘Angel Number Riddim’, which was recently released.
“The song served as a testimony of resilience, faith, and gratitude for answered prayers. Due to numerous requests to make it an official track, we decided to bring D’yani on board. His addition elevated the song’s power and emotion, making fans fall in love with it all over again,” Kacique explained.
‘Forever Life’ by XX3eme, Deeclef with ‘Best Regards’ and ‘Decisive’ by Knaxx are some of the other songs on the ‘Angel Number Riddim’.
Kacique is from Manchester, a rural parish in southern Jamaica that has produced outstanding artists like Garnet Silk and Tony Rebel. His biggest music influences were not as cultural, as he preferred the more gritty songs of Beenie Man and Bounty Killer.
To date, Kacique has released one album (‘Somerset Son’) and a number of singles including ‘Brunch’, ‘Knock It’, ‘Anytime’ and ‘SMOOD’.
