It's been some time since Sly and Robbie dropped an album. They broke that barren period on November 30 with "Red Hills Road".
The 13-song set is named for the area in Kingston where the famed drum-and-bass duo started their careers in the early 1970s. It is also where most of their productions in the last 10 years have been done, from the One Pop Studio.
"Red Hills Road" includes "Santa Barbara", the funky instrumental that drove songs like "Murder She Wrote" by Chaka Demus and Pliers to chart success in 1993.
The 'Riddim Twins' previous album was "Dubrising" which came out in 2014. They won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album with "Friends" in 1999.
Red Hills Road is a strip in Jamaica that was once home to a line of clubs where many of reggae's top musicians, including Sly and Robbie, developed their skills.
