Chezidek takes Africa to the top

Hello Africa, the hard-hitting album by Chezidek, is in its fourth straight week as number one on the South Florida Album Chart.

That doesn't surprise the roots singer who considers the 13-song set his most potent work to date.

"Wi expect it fi do even better 'cause wi put out wi best, so wi happy with wha' gwaan. Di fans hungry fi dis kinda music," Chezidek declared.

Hello Africa was released on July 23 by Tad's International Record. That is the birthday of Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I, considered by many Rastafarians as God.

The album contains songs like Because I'm Black and March, which have been released as singles.

According to Chezidek, he writes and records songs with meaning, which he credits for winning him a fan base especially in Europe where he tours regularly.

"Anything Chezidek do, wi put wi heart inna it," he said.
