Binghi Blaze heads to Africa

Roots singer Binghi Blaze, whose songs include the uplifting ‘Africa Great Again’, will perform on that continent for the first time, starting in November. He has five confirmed dates scheduled for Kenya.

His ‘Great Africa Tour’ is scheduled to start on November 22 at the Good Vibes Festival which features Luciano. That show takes place at Jamhuri Park in Nairobi, capital of the East African country.

“We welcome all opportunities to perform for the people, but to perform in Africa is extra special because that’s our foundation, culture and roots,” said Binghi Blaze. “The African blood is where the power is, so touching the African soil to perform will be like the highlight of all the previous performances.”

On ‘Hail King Selassie I’, his most recent song, Binghi Blaze saluted the Ethiopian Emperor who many in the Rastafarian faith consider the Supreme Being.

Other dates confirmed on the ‘Great Africa Tour’ are December 11 at Wild Waters Amusement Park in  Mombasa; Dec 18 at Mass House in Nairobi; December 19 at Utamu in Nayuki; and December 20 in Meru.

Binghi Blaze hails from Manchester parish in central Jamaica, but has lived in South Florida for many years. In recent years, he has worked with several producers, including veteran keyboardist Dennis “Jah D” Fearon.

Most of his songs, including ‘Pressuring The Poor’ and ‘People of The World’, are inspired by global affairs.
