Skatta Lopa, lead vocalist of Inner Circle, goes solo on 'Reggae A di Remedy’, a song co-produced by Shandari Entertainment and Gapbonn Production. It is scheduled for release on February 28th.

While much of the past two years has seen him touring with the Grammy-winning band, Skatta Lopa says he finds time to record songs for different producers. One of them is ‘Reggae A di Remedy’, on which he expresses his love for Jamaican music.

“First of all, me’s a reggae singer, whether it’s dancehall or roots-reggae. But I would say I have a special thing for lovers rock,” he stated.

Over the years, Skatta Lopa has done songs for top producers such as Bobby Digital and Steely and Clevie. Prior to joining Inner Circle, he was lead singer for The Bloodfire Posse and Ruff Kutt Band.

“Wi have a whole heap a song out dey, but dem jus’ never get release. But wi aim to get more stuff out this year,” he said.

Skatta Lopa is from the Whitehall Avenue area of Kingston, Jamaica’s capital. That community has produced acts such as Buju Banton, Sanchez, Flourgon, Daddy Lizard and Red Dragon.

Like them, he cut his teeth on hometown sound systems before launching his recording career in 1983 with ‘Girl Next Door’, produced by Henley Henderson.
