Buju Banton and George Nooks are among the performers for 'Unity: A Virtual Christmas Concert', which will be streamed online on December 20.
The event is organized by the Independent Order of Mechanics, for which Jamaican Roy Reid, is public relations director.
During the show, funds will be raised for the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica.
"This is the first time we are in a venture of this nature. As you the know, the (Coronavirus) pandemic has hit us very hard and our members have been able to meet only virtually," said Reid. "In April, I came up with the idea of having a virtual Christmas concert which encompasses a lot of planning, flying to Jamaica and other places in putting the pieces together."
Gem Myers, Nicole Bogle, Allison Norville, Brian Hurst and the Jamaica Constabulary Force Band are also scheduled to perform on 'Unity: A Virtual Christmas Concert'.
Reid, who lives in New York, has been involved with several charity initiatives in his homeland. The latest is for an organization he says deserves as much assistance as possible.
"It is a gesture for the wonderful work St. Jude's have been doing across the world in treating children."
